ACTION PACKED SPRING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS AHEAD

Local kids and young visitors are in for a treat these school holidays with two weeks jam-packed full of exciting activities and events.
From vintage cars to fun runs, carnival rides at the show and a range of exciting art workshops, there will be plenty to do in Griffith from 23 September to 8 October 2023.  
The Spring holidays kick off with Griffith’s Biggest lap on Saturday 23 September 2023. The rolling car show down Banna Avenue is an event for car enthusiasts and families to enjoy.
Run, walk or ride with City2Lake on Sunday 24 September. From Jubilee Oval to Lake Wyangan picnic grounds, this 9km track invites you to get active for this year’s charity CanAssist Griffith. There will be trophies for runners in each category as well as entertainment and catering available at the finish line. Register online at www.city2lake.org.
Head over to the Griffith Leagues Club for arts and crafts with Tambourine Art Studio’s workshops on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the holidays. Spend Sunday 1 October on the family terrace with free face painting, a sand art workshop and balloon twisting with Emma Wiggle. Salt Bush Stretch will be running Free Kids Yoga on Tuesday 3 October and on Friday 6 October you can join Elsa on the Family Terrace for free face painting, a sand art work shop and glitter tattoos. With the long weekend in the mix, you can’t miss the annual Griffith Agricultural Show on Sunday 1 October at the Griffith Showgrounds. There will be something for everyone including entertainment, horse ring events and show jumping, tractor pull, demolition derby, carnival rides, live music, a firework show and more.
Enjoy a day out at Griffith Pioneer Park Museum offering guided museum tour on Sunday 1 October, followed by the Australian Veteran Car Club rally and mini action day on Monday 2 October. Enjoy a day of market stalls, musical entertainment, blacksmithing, steam engines and a vintage vehicle “lap of honour” around the museum. Food and drinks will be available on the day.
Piccolo Family Farm will be hosting free song writing workshops on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 October for all ages. Bookings essential via www.piccolofamilyfarm.com.au.
Council’s Youth Advisory Group (YAG) have got the kids covered for Friday night fun with another “Glow Roller Disco” at the Griffith Regional Sports Centre on Friday 6 October 2023.
Round off the holiday fun on Sunday 8 October in Banna Avenue by checking out the Real Juice Company Citrus Sculptures, the annual display as part of Griffith Spring Fest that will welcome nine new exciting sculptures into this year’s collection.
