The winter school holidays are just around the corner, and Griffith is ready to welcome families with an exciting line up of activities to keep children entertained. From educational workshops to thrilling performances, there's something for every child this July.
Griffith City Library is once again stepping up to provide fun-filled activities with free movie screenings. Bring your little ones to the Library on Monday 3 July, Friday 7 July, Monday 10 July, and Friday 14 July at 11am for special movie screenings. Let their imaginations soar as they enjoy these fantastic films at no cost.
On Thursday 6 July, at 10.30am, the renowned Teeny Tiny Stevies will grace the stage at Griffith Regional Theatre. These ARIA Award-winning Children's Artists will captivate young audiences with their delightful tunes from their latest album, "How to be Creative." Join them in embracing creativity, trying new things, and having fun.
Looking for daily activities throughout the entire two-week holiday period? Family Fun Land has got you covered! From Monday to Friday, they have a range of exciting experiences planned. Get creative with rock painting on Monday, explore mask making and decorating on Tuesday, discover the magic of sand, glitter, and scratch art on Wednesday, create balloon masterpieces on Thursday, and indulge in Lego workshops on Friday.
Griffith City Cinemas is also rolling out the red carpet for kids this holiday season, featuring a line-up of great new movies. Join the adventure with films like Cats in the Museum, Carry On Jatta 3, Elemental, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse and The Little Mermaid.
For something different to experience, head to the Griffith Regional Sports Centre on Thursday 13 July for the Glow Roller Disco. Bring your skates or rent a pair of fashionable Impalas, and enjoy live music from local DJs while indulging in delicious food at this free event.
The Cat in the Hat is making its way to Griffith Regional Theatre on Saturday 15 July at 10:30am. Gather the whole family for a lively adaptation of this timeless classic. Watch as the beloved story comes to life before your eyes, enchanting young and old alike.
Young artists can explore their creativity at the Griffith Regional Art Gallery on Sunday 16 July 2023. Tambourine Art Studio will be hosting painting workshops, where participants will have the opportunity to paint a beach scene inspired by Ken Done's masterpiece, "Playing the beach." The workshops will be divided into two age groups: 6 - 12-year-olds from 10am to 11.30am and 13 - 18-year-olds from 12 pm to 2pm.
