Join efforts at Bridge Road Griffith for Clean Up Australia Day

If you are interested in cleaning up a special area in Griffith with like-minded residents, then register your site with Clean Up Australia this year as Griffith City Council gets ready to host the annual Griffith Clean Up Day on Sunday August 3, 2014.
Council’s Environment & Sustainability Committee, which organises the Clean Up Day, is inviting residents to register their clean up site with Clean Up Australia or come along and help the committee clean up along Bridge Road, the area the committee has designated as its clean-up site this year.
Individuals, schools, businesses or groups can organise a Clean Up site by:
- Identifying a space in your local area that needs to be cleaned up. It can be the local park, street, a local waterway or bushland.
- Registering your site by visiting www.cleanupaustralia.org.au or calling 1800 282 329. You will receive a FREE Clean Up Kit enclosing bags, gloves and other important materials to help coordinate your site.
- Registering with Council to help clean up Bridge Road. Download the registration form on Council’s website to fax to (02) 6962 7161 or post to Griffith City Council, Po Box 485 Griffith 2680. Visit www.griffith.nsw.gov.au or email Renae.Foggiato@griffith.nsw.gov.au prior to Monday 28 July 2014 to receive the form.
“We are grateful to the many local residents who join us in our clean-up efforts each year and make these events successful,” said Renae Foggiato, Environmental Health Officer with Griffith City Council. “We look forward to teaming up with the community again this year and we will contact residents who register or sign up with all the final details before the big day.”
