SUNCORP SUPER NETBALL IS COMING TO GRIFFITH!

Exciting news for local netballers and sports fans with Griffith City Council and Griffith Netball Association partnering to bring the first-ever Suncorp Super Netball pre-season event to Griffith.
GIANTS Netball arrive in Griffith on Saturday 2 March 2024 with a community appearance at Griffith Central and netball clinics at the Griffith Regional Sports Centre planned for the day.
Then on Sunday 3 March 2024, GIANTS Netball will take on the Melbourne Mavericks in a pre-season match at the Griffith Regional Sports Centre at 12pm.
GIANTS Netball will play host to the newly formed Melbourne Mavericks for an interstate rivalry match in preparation for the 2024 Suncorp Super Netball Season.
Locals are invited to come along and see netball royalty battle it out and sink their incredible super shots.
The stakes are high, find out who will come out on top and assert their dominance for the upcoming season.
The 2024 GIANTS Netball superstar squad consists of Jo Harten, Sophie Dwyer, Matisse Letherbarrow, Jamie-Lee Price, Maddie Hay, Amy Sligar, Sam Winders, Matilda McDonnell, Jodi-A Ward and Erin O’Brien.
Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran is thrilled Griffith has been able to secure one of the pre-season games.
“This is an exciting opportunity for residents to see elite Australian netballers in action right here in our City. The fantastic facilities at our new Sports Centre has made this event possible.” said Councillor Curran.
“I’d like to acknowledge the work put in by the Griffith Netball Association to make this event happen. The event is also being supported by some of our local schools, MIA Coaches, Amanti Di Caffe Griffith, Baby Chopsticks, Kennards Hire & Guiseppes Restaurant & Bar. Tickets are limited so get in fast.”
Prior to the main game, the NSW Mens Opens v Opens A Team will play an exhibition match at 9.30am. With six Australian players set to take the court, the game will be fast, skillful and entertaining. Come and see why the sport of Men’s Netball is growing so rapidly.
Entertainment throughout the day will be provided by Prodigy Dance Studio Griffith and NetSetGo mini-matches played by our littlest superstars from Griffith and Narrandera Netball Associations.
There will be merchandise, food and refreshments available along with photo and signing opportunities with players after the main game.
