We have joined the Mayoral and Councillor Taskforce Supporting People Seeking Asylum, along with a growing number of leading local governments, to stand up for fairness, compassion and dignity for people fleeing war and persecution.

With over 40 participating local governments across Australia, the Taskforce coordinates the Back Your Neighbourcampaign, advocating to the Federal Government for work rights, a fair asylum process and essential social supports for people in need.

Collective advocacy efforts have contributed to permanent protection for 20,000 refugees and investment into addressing processing delays.

But we can’t stop here. We need your voice to ensure lasting change. Join us in supporting a compassionate and just approach for our neighbours wanting to rebuild their lives in safety.
