Road closures

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122, of the temporary closing of Stokes Road between Hanwood Avenue and Mirrool Branch Canal Road & Toscan Road between Hanwood Avenue and Sainty Road.

Stokes Road and Toscan Road will be closed on Thursday 28^th May 2026 between 8am and 3pm due to Essential Energy works on electrical infrastructure.

A full road closure and detour will be in place, with access for local resident only.

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122, of the temporary closing of Mirrool Branch Canal Road between Old Willbriggie Road and Hanwood Avenue.

Mirrool Branch Canal Road will be closed on Sunday 31^st May 2026 between 8am and 3 pm while Essential Energy undertake vital electrical repairs.

A full road closure and detour will be in place.

Access to Stokes Road residents provided via Sainty Road only.

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122, of the temporary closing of Hebden Street between McCormack Road and Moura Street, Yoogali.

Hebden Street will be closed from 2^nd June to 3^rd July 2026 while contractors’ conduct road construction works for subdivision.

A full road closure and detour will be in place.

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122, of the temporary closing of the southbound lane of Murrumbidgee Avenue between Foreshaw Avenue and Taylor Road.

The southbound lane of Murrumbidgee Avenue will be closed from 18th May until 12th June 2026 while contractors’ complete concrete and pavement works.

Access will be maintained under a single lane closure and traffic will be guided under portable traffic lights. 

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122, of the extension of the temporary closing of Jack McWilliam Road at the Kidman Way intersection affecting light vehicle traffic only.

Jack McWilliam Road will be closed until Friday 5^th June 2026 while contractors continue to conduct road widening works.

A full road closure for light vehicles and detour will be in place. Access for light vehicles will be available via Old Willbriggie Road.

Heavy Vehicles will have access via Kidman Way.

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122, of the temporary closing of Overs Road between Oakes Road and Watkins Avenue.

Overs Road will be closed until 19th June 2026 to facilitate the installation of an underground pipeline by contractors on behalf of Murrumbidgee Irrigation.

A full road closure and detour will be in place with access to Overs Road for residents only.

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122, of the temporary closing of Eipper Road between Bishop Road and Kurrajong Avenue.

Eipper Road will remain closed until 30th June 2026 as additional works are required.

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122, of the temporary closing of Todd Road between Boorga Road and Druitt Road.

Todd Road will be closed between 11^th May and 31^st June 2026 due to a culvert installation relating to the Griffith City Council housing development project.

A full road closure and detour will be in place.

Access will be available to Todd Road residents.

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122 for the temporary closing of Mallinson Road between Lakes Road and Violi Drive and Abattoir Road between Slopes Road and Mallinson Road.

Mallinson Road and Abattoir Road will be closed from Tuesday 3 February until Tuesday 30 June 2026 for realignment works associated with the Lake Wyangan Residential Housing Infrastructure Project.

Access for local residents only will be provided via Lakes Road for the Mallinson Road closure and via Kennedy Street for the Abattoir Road closure. 

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122, of the temporary closing of Smeeth Road between Jones Road and Boorga Road.

Smeeth Road will be closed from 5^th January until 30^th April 2026 to facilitate works associated with the Residential Housing Infrastructure Project.

A full road closure will be in place, with detours for light and heavy vehicles in place.

Please be aware that detours are subject to change as works progress.

Notice is hereby given under the Roads Act 1993, Section 122, of the temporary closing of Todd Road between Druitt Road and Boorga Road.

Todd Road will be closed from Monday 25 May until Tuesday 30 2026 for the installation of a culvert across Druitt Road to Todd Road through this intersection as part of the Lake Wyangan Residential Housing Infrastructure Project.

Local Residents - from Druitt Road to just west of Mason Street - will have access via a temporary path at the Todd/Druitt Road intersection. Druitt Road will be under one- lane only traffic control for the week. A reminder that there is no through traffic on Todd Road as it is currently closed just west of Mason Street.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, follow the traffic control signage and allow additional travel time.
