The Community Participation Plan (CPP) outlines when and how the community will be engaged in Council's planning-related functions. The preparation and implementation of a CPP is a requirement of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act).

From 1 September 2026, community participation requirements for planning matters in New South Wales are governed by the NSW Statewide Community Participation Plan. This statewide approach provides a consistent framework for community engagement across all councils in NSW.

Prior to this change, Griffith City Council operated under the Griffith Community Participation Plan, which was adopted in December 2019. While this plan has now been superseded by the NSW Statewide Community Participation Plan, it remains available below for historical reference.

The Griffith Land Use Strategy Beyond 2030 was developed by Griffith City Council over the past few years in close co-operation with the Griffith community, business groups within Griffith and a range of State agencies. The document will function as a flexible guideline to inform future decisions on spatial planning.
