Griffith Economic Development Strategy
What is an Economic Development Strategy?
An Economic Development Strategy is a comprehensive plan designed to promote the prosperity and sustainability of a region. It outlines the goals, objectives, and actions necessary to stimulate economic growth, attract investment, and improve the quality of life for residents.
Economic Development Vision for the City of Griffith
Leveraging its strategic location, industry strengths, and role as the service hub for the Western Riverina, by 2040, Griffith will be renowned for its vibrant and connected communities, and as a leading destination to live, work, visit, and invest.
Griffith City Council’s Economic Development Charter
Griffith City Council fosters economic development through strategic planning, information-sharing, advocacy, infrastructure provision, and service delivery. Our goal is to encourage business establishment and growth, and to enhance Griffith’s appeal as a place to live, learn, and prosper.
Strategic themes
The three strategic themes will continue to guide Griffith City Council’s efforts on its role as an ‘enabler’ of economic development;
A premier destination to live, visit & invest - Griffith offers a high quality of life with affordable housing, excellent healthcare, and vibrant community life, making it an attractive place to live. The city boasts unique local attractions, a supportive business environment, and strong infrastructure, making it ideal for visitors and investors.
A dynamic & resilient workforce - By partnering with educational institutions and RDA Riverina, Council focuses on skills development and youth engagement to create a well-trained and adaptable workforce.
Innovative & thriving industries - Foster a culture of innovation by supporting research and development initiatives and providing targeted resources to help sectors grow. Encourage collaboration between businesses, government and promote a circular economy to create sustainable and resilient industries.
