Griffith Base Hospital Pioneers Trust Fund
SUPPORTING GRIFFITH BASE HOSPITAL
The Griffith Base Hospital Pioneers Trust Fund has a long and distinguished local history. It was established on 25 June 1965 following a public meeting convened by the President of the Shire of Wade to consider the formation of a trust to support Griffith District Hospital, now known as Griffith Base Hospital.
The Griffith Base Hospital Pioneers Trust Fund was established as a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting Griffith Base Hospital.
Each year, the Fund donates monies to the Hospital to purchase equipment that would otherwise be beyond available hospital funding.
This support has assisted with the purchase of items including patient monitoring equipment and an ICU ventilator ($72,383), a Gamma Probe Unit ($46,000), an ultrasound scanner ($34,000), a portable ultrasound machine ($50,000), a laparoscopic telescope ($31,783), electric beds ($27,532), Laser Urology equipment ($285,000), and other essential items.
Importantly, all items purchased through this support remain in Griffith and directly benefit local patients, families, and hospital staff.
The Fund is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. Donations to the Fund are tax deductible.
The Fund welcomes donations, and members of the public are warmly invited to contribute, providing an opportunity for individuals and organisations to support the Hospital and the broader local community.
