Project update: Lake Wyangan Residential Housing Infrastructure

Culvert works on Boorga Road at the Smeeth Road intersection are progressing well and Boorga Road is expected to be re-opened to through traffic from Monday 16 March 2026, under traffic control. The culvert works will be assessed today, Friday 13 March, for suitability for a superficial seal which will be installed over the weekend. The final road seal will be undertaken at a later date in conjunction with other sealing works.

Smeeth Road will remain closed with Local Residents Only Access from Jones Road until 30 April 2026.

The scheduled closure of McCarthy Road on Monday 16 March 2026 will not proceed until Boorga Road at the Smeeth Road intersection is re-opened.

A reminder of the current and upcoming road closures:

• Boorga Road at the intersection of Smeeth Road - will be open to through traffic from Monday 16 March. The footpath remains closed due to continuing culvert works. Smeeth Road will remain closed until 30 April 2026 for culvert works with Local Residents Only access from Jones Road.
• Boorga Road at the intersection of Mallinson Road – from Monday, 16 March 2026, one lane of Boorga Road will be closed and works will be carried out under traffic control. Traffic lights and/or traffic controllers will be used to manage traffic flow through the site. The speed limit within the work area will be restricted to 40 km/h during work hours and will revert to 60 km/h outside work hours.
• Mallinson Road - remains closed between Lakes Road and Boorga Road with Local Residents Only access up to Violi Drive. No through access to Boorga Road or Abattoir Road.
• Abattoir Road – remains closed between Slopes Road/Kennedy Street and Mallinson Road, with Local Residents Only access from Slopes Road/Kennedy Street end only.
• Druitt Road – remains closed at the Boorga Road intersection. Detour via Todd Road to access Druitt Road. Local Residents Only access via Lakes Road.
• McCarthy Road – scheduled to close on Monday 16 March 2026. Local Residents Only access via Jones Road.

Upcoming works requiring road closures:

• Todd Road, just west of the Mason Street intersection – May/June.
• Todd Road, at Druitt Road intersection – April/May.
• Boorga Road – from just north of the Druitt & McCarthy Road intersections – early April.

More information will be provided prior to commencement of these works.
