The Safe Haven offers a warm and welcoming space for people experiencing crisis, suicidality or mental health issues as an alternative to attending the Emergency Department.
The service is located at 81 Kooyoo Street Griffith and is open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 2pm to 9pm.
Safe Haven also provides a separate service:
Suicide Prevention Outreach Team (SPOT) is a virtual care service, either phone call or video call, based from our Wagga Wagga and Griffith Safe Haven buildings. Operating every Thursday to Monday, 2pm to 9pm. SPOT calls provide a Mental Health Peer Support Worker and a Mental Health Clinician to offer support, understanding and guidance to those experiencing mental distress including suicidality and self-harm.
This is a free, non-clinical support service open to all people of any age.
Referrals can be arranged by your GP, your mental health professional, or yourself by calling Accessline on 1800 800 944 and asking for a SPOT referral.
