Good news for motorists with the newly constructed single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Kookora Street and Walla Avenue now open. This project was made possible through $1 million in funding from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program, aimed at improving road safety.
Other Road Updates: Yambil Street and Kidman Way
Motorists can also look forward to the reopening of Yambil Street before Christmas. While the road will be ready for traffic, final touches such as seating, gardens and footpaths will be installed in the new year to complete the project. With footpath areas still construction zones, residents are urged to be careful when navigating the area.
In addition, the roadworks along Kidman Way for the Hanwood levee have been completed and the road is now fully open. As there is no line marking and there may be loose stones, motorists are urged to drive carefully.
Griffith City Council appreciates the community's patience as these key projects near completion, contributing to safer and more accessible roads across the region.
