Griffith is set to shine as the prestigious Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour rolls into town on Thursday 19 June 2025, bringing with it one of Australia’s most treasured sporting icons, the three-handled, 18-carat gold Melbourne Cup trophy, valued at a $850,000.
Now in its 22nd year, the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour is an initiative of the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) and has become a cornerstone of community celebration and connection, with the Cup having travelled more than one million kilometres to over 680 destinations worldwide.
Griffith residents are invited to be part of this unique opportunity, with two special free public events planned to mark the occasion. Both events offer the rare chance to get up close to the Cup, hear stories from the Tour Ambassador and join in the national excitement that surrounds the race that stops a nation.
