Griffith’s Survival Day is back, promising an even bigger and better experience in 2025.

Held on Sunday, 26 January 2025 from 11am to 3pm, at the Griffith Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre, this inclusive event is a vibrant celebration of culture, connection, and respect for the First Nations Wiradjuri People.

Hosted by Griffith City Council and the Griffith Local Aboriginal Land Council, the day invites everyone in the community to come together to learn, share, and celebrate. With free entry to the pool, attendees can enjoy a rich line-up of activities, including traditional dancing, singing, cultural stalls, and live music by talented local artists. A free BBQ lunch will also be provided.

Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said he looked forward to the important event.

“Australia Day is a time to reflect on our shared history, the triumphs and challenges alike. The Survival Day event allows us to celebrate our Indigenous community in a meaningful way,” said Councillor Curran.

“I encourage everyone to come along and experience this special day. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn, connect, and enjoy a fantastic cultural celebration.”
