Griffith City Council prepares for Australia Day 2025 celebrations

Griffith City Council is excited to announce the nominees for the 2025 Australia Day Awards, with 45 outstanding individuals and organisations recognised for their hard work and contributions to the community.
The nominees span eight categories, including Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year, and Club Person of the Year.
Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran, said these awards are important as they acknowledge the tireless efforts of community members.
“These nominees have devoted countless hours and energy to improving our community and making Griffith a better place for everyone,” Councillor Curran said.
“It’s great to see their efforts acknowledged and celebrated through these awards.”
Winners will be announced during the Australia Day Award Ceremony on Sunday, 26 January 2025 at Griffith Regional Theatre.
