ARTEXPRESS 2025 on show at Griffith Regional Art Gallery
Published on 13 June 2025
Griffith Regional Art Gallery is proud to host ARTEXPRESS 2025, a vibrant showcase of exceptional artworks by a selection of 2024 HSC Visual Arts students, opening to the public on Saturday 21 June at 11am and running until Sunday 27 July.
ARTEXPRESS is a much-anticipated annual exhibition that celebrates the creative vision, technical skill, and critical thinking of young artists from across the state.
Visitors to the Griffith Regional Art Gallery will experience a powerful and diverse range of expressive forms, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and time-based forms. As part of their Visual Arts studies, students submit a body of work that demonstrates their understanding of artmaking as a practice. Their work is a reflection of their ideas and interests, while interpreting different subject matters and using different expressive forms.
Gallery Coordinator Melanie Toscan said, “The standard and quality of work that has come from students all over NSW is very impressive. It is great for our local and surrounding students to view the artworks and be inspired by the exhibition and its processes. I am also very pleased with the range of work this exhibition has to offer to our regular audience.”
NESA Chief Executive Officer, Paul Martin, commended all students whose work was nominated for exhibition in ARTEXPRESS 2025 and congratulated the twenty students who were selected for exhibition at Griffith Regional Art Gallery.
“ARTEXPRESS is a wonderful opportunity for the public to witness our youngest artists entering the Australian arts landscape.
“The calibre of work now on display here is a celebration of our young artists who found and fostered their passion, artistry and skills in NSW classrooms and the HSC Visual Arts syllabus,” Mr Martin said.
The public is invited to attend the official opening event on Friday 20 June at 6pm, where guests can explore the exhibition while enjoying light refreshments and celebrating the creativity of the young artists.
A Teacher Development Program will also be held on the same day, Friday 20 June, from 10am to 3pm, offering educators the opportunity to engage with an ARTEXPRESS representative from the Department of Education, gain valuable insights into the exhibition, and explore education resources for classroom use.
Don't miss this inspiring exhibition that recognises and celebrates the talent, dedication, and diverse voices of our state's emerging artists.
ARTEXPRESS is a partnership between the NSW Department of Education and the NSW Education Standards Authority that Griffith Regional Art Gallery proudly hosts.
