Artist Sessions

Learn from a variety of artists and professionals that have years of experience. Artist Sessions provides insight into an art discipline and will leave you with the knowledge to explore it further on your own. Participants can be from beginners to intermediate and are encouraged to bring along their favourite tools and materials, or use the resources on offer. 

Available to those 18 years and over.


Oil Painting with Brooke Jarvis
Three sessions: 6pm - 8pm, Thursday 29 February, 7 March & 14 March
Cost: $90

Over three weeks local artist Brooke Jarvis will take you through creating two oil paintings. Looking at landscape and surrealism subject matter for inspiration. If you have ever wanted to explore oil painting here may be the place for you to start.

About the artist
Brooke Jarvis is a local artist and teacher. Her practice includes drawing, painting and printmaking. Brooke completed a Bachelor of Visual Art with First Class Honours (Painting) at the Australian National University. She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in ACT and NSW. Brooke is a two-time finalist of the Shirl National Youth Portrait Prize and the ANU Drawing Prize. She was a recipient of the EASS Legislative Assembly Prize. You can see her work on instagram @brookejarvisart, or visit her exhibition, “Changing Light” at Griffith Regional Theatre’s Artspace exhibiting until Thursday 28 March.
