Council's Star Shopper Campaign Coming To A Close

Tuesday, 13 Dec 2022

Council's Star Shopper Campaign Coming To A Close Griffith City Council’s Star Shopper campaign has been hugely successful, with shoppers flocking to local retailers for the chance to win a $500 voucher or one of five $100 vouchers.

Local businesses were invited to become a Star Business once again in 2022, with Council promoting their wares throughout November and December in an effort to encourage residents to shop local this holiday season.

Last year saw more than 15,000 entries and this year is on track to exceed all expectations.

Griffith City Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran, said the aim was to increase participation and engagement between Council, business and the community and to help invigorate the economy.

“We had a huge response this year with more than 41 local retailers registering to be a Star Business,” he said.

“This Campaign is part of our wider Glow2680 promotion and I think it has been a win for everyone. The program has allowed Star Businesses to generate more sales and Star Shoppers receive a nice little Christmas bonus to in turn spend more at their favourite registered Business.

“The promotion will end next Tuesday, December 20 so I encourage you to look out for that Star and get all your last minute Christmas shopping done to be in the chance to take home a voucher!” he added.

Council has been promoting retailers through social media including Instagram, and businesses are encouraged to showcase their displays using the hashtag #Glow2680

 How shoppers can get involved:
  • Shop in-store throughout the promotional period (from Tuesday 1 November until Tuesday 20 December 2022) at any of the Star Businesses, easily identified by the Glow2680 Star Business Sticker
  • Fill out the in-store entry form issued upon spending $15 (one entry per spend)
For more information contact Council’s Economic Development team on 1300 176 077.
Winners will be drawn via Facebook on Thursday 22 December, with winners notified before the Christmas break.
