NEW CHRISTMAS WORKING GROUP TO LIGHT UP GRIFFITH WITH IDEAS

Griffith City Council is calling on members of the community to join a working group to help light up Griffith with new ideas for Christmas.

At the ordinary meeting of Council, held on 12 March 2019, Council endorsed the formation of the Christmas Working Group.

The role of the Working Group is to advise Council on a possible program of activities for the Christmas Festive Season.

If you would like to help create a Christmas atmosphere in the Griffith CBD area for locals and visitors to enjoy, Griffith City Council invites you to join the Christmas Working Group.

Councillor Dino Zappacosta put forward the Notice of Motion for the Christmas Working Group to be formed.

“We received quite a lot of feedback last year in regards to the lack of Christmas spirit in our main street,” Cr Zappacosta said.

“In the past we’ve had a Christmas committee which was successful in helping add some cheer.

“Ideally we’d work with a wide cross-section of community members, including businesses, to create something really special.

“If you’ve got any ideas, we’d love to hear from you.”
