The cost of obtaining a MLAK key has been waived for eligible residents following a Notice of Motion put forward to Council.

The MLAK key gives people with a disability 24 hour/7 days per week access to public facilities across Australia. The system, developed by the Master Locksmiths, ensures people with a disability always have access to clean and safe facilities if and when other public facilities are not available or closed.

The $20 fee for the key will now be covered by Council after an application has made at the Griffith City Council’s Customer Service Centre at 1 Benerembah St Griffith.

In addition to toilets under the MLAK system, Council also operates a number of ambulant toilets at the Griffith City Library, the Griffith Visitors Centre, the Griffith Regional and Aquatic Centre and Memorial Park which are available when facilities are open.
