When it comes to helping locals develop new skills to find work, Griffith City Library is on the job.

Griffith City Library’s Job Readiness Program kicks off this Thursday, 7 June and will run for the next four weeks.

Library Manager Karen Tagliapietra said the program was about teaching jobseekers how to effectively present themselves to prospective employers, both in writing and in person.

“We invite people needing assistance to join us for these short, hands on sessions,” said Ms Tagliapietra.

“This program offers participants the chance to develop the skills necessary to apply for roles in today's workforce.

“Classes focus on creating a resume, how to create cover letter, interview skills and job searching.

“The aim is to make this process as straightforward as possible and to offer practical advice.

"We hope to introduce people to the resources available to them and allow them to feel more confident in their job searching and the application process.”

Classes will be held from 5.45pm on June 7, 14, 21 and 28 at the Griffith City Library. If you are interested in attending or you would like more information call the Library on 6962 8300.
