Yambil Street Upgrade

The Yambil Street Upgrade is a signature CBD project which will set the standard for future upgrades and beautification of the Griffith CBD precinct.  

The full length of Yambil Street is being upgraded in 4 stages. Jondaryan Avenue to Kooyoo Street was Stage 1 and was completed November 2019. This stage saw both sides of Yambil Street refurbished with new water mains, stormwater drainage, road pavement, street lighting, median parking, kerb and gutters, footpaths rebuilt and landscaping. Kooyoo Street to Ulong Street was Stage 2 and was completed late September 2020. Stage 3, Ulong Street to Daines Street, had new water mains, stormwater, roadpavement, landscaping and footpaths completed by late January 2022, and streetlights were installed on 13 December 2022.
