City Park - Toilet Project

The City Park Toilets are being delivered as part of the "Stronger Country Communities Fund", a NSW Government initiative to help deliver local projects to regional communities. The objective of the fund is to provide projects that improve the lives of people who live in regional areas. As part of the program, the City Park Toilets will be developed to provide accessible and hygenic facilities in City Park.

  • Providing hygenic facilities for patrons

  • Provide an accessible facility for people living with disabilities

  • Provide secure and connected facilities for parents with multiple children

  • Promote and further develop the City Park Precinct as a regional destination.

Planning is currently underway for the toilets. Peter Budd Architect's have been engaged to develop the concept design.

City Park was first opened in 2011 following the strategic investment of $1.8 million for a high quality regional playground that could service the Griffith commuinity, surrounding towns and villages. The financial constraints and accessibility of existing infrastructure prevented the develpoment of a City Park toilet at the time.

Consultation has already begun with Councillors, stakeholders and community groups. The general public consultation began in March with a public forum held at Griffith City Library's Multi-purpose room on Thursday, 5th of March.
