Community Gardens - Stage Project

The Community Stage Development is being delivered as part of the "Stronger Country Communities Fund", a NSW Government initiative to help deliver local projects to regional communities. The objective of the fund is to provide projects that improve the lives of people who live in regional areas. As part of the program, the Community Stage would aim at providing a large scale performance venue for local and travelling performers to use.

  • delivering high quality infrastructure for performers and artists

  • attracting high quality performances to the region

  • activating the space and surrounding city park and community gardens

  • creating a dynamic and versatile performance venue

Planning is currently underway for the Community Stage and adjacent amphitheatre. VEE Design firm from Brisbane has been engaged to prepare the design for the development. Public consultation will begin in March with a public forum to be held at the Griffith City Library.

Consultation has already begun with Councillors, stakeholders and community groups, with general public consultation to begin in March with a public forum at the Griffith City Library Multi-purpose rooms (starting from 5:30p, until 7:00pm). All members of the public are invited to attend and provide input.
