Monday 11 October Sees Access Changes For Council Facilities

Thursday, 07 Oct 2021

Monday 11 October Sees Access Changes For Council Facilities Premier Dominic Perrottet has announced that all of NSW will be aligned with the same COVID rules from Monday 11 October 2021, with NSW having reached the 70% vaccination rate of 16+.

As of Monday 11 October:
• All patrons, clients and customers attending any Council facility must be double vaccinated
• COVID-Safe check-ins and proof of vaccination will be required for staff and customers and masks are required

Customers (anyone over 16 years old) will need to provide proof of their vaccination at all Council facilities. This can be done with either a COVID Digital Certificate from MyGov or Certification from the place of vaccination or from the Australian Immunisation Register.

Please be assured all staff serving you at any Council facility will have had at least one or both Covid-19 vaccinations.

Council will always adhere to Public Health Orders and all we can do is work to what we have in front of us at the current time, knowing these can change at any time.

The indoor and outdoor pools at Griffith Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre will remain open. The indoor pool will only be open for swimming lessons, squad training, lap swimming and rehabilitation activities, while the outdoor pool is open for recreational swimming. All patrons aged 16 and over will need to be double vaccinated.

In the gym, there has been a changes to mask rules with gym-goers now only need to be 'exercising' not 'strenuously exercising'. Masks are still required in all indoor classes, and limits of 20 people per class will be in place.

Griffith Regional Theatre have had to cancel most shows scheduled for 2021, although there will be a Christmas Morning Melodies Show on 14 December 2021. The Theatre are planning a Season Launch for Monday 13 December previewing a really big and amazing season.

Information and education facilities (including art galleries, museums and libraries) are able to operate with the greater of the density limit or 75% fixed seated capacity.
Community sport remains prohibited across the State.
