Library Prepares For A Very Merry Christmas It’s going to be a very Merry Christmas at the Griffith City Library this year, with a host of activities planned to get everyone in the spirit.
Griffith City Library Acting Manager, Chris Robson, said there was something for just about everyone.
“On behalf of the team here at the Library, I want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas, “Mr Robson said.
“We have lots of activities and events planned, starting with Family Time this Saturday 3 December at 10am where local author Tamara Floriani will be reading her new book The Lazy Lizard.
“Library staff and the Book Mobile will also be at the Glow2680 light up event this Friday 2 December from 5.30pm.”
Griffith City Library has a special mailbox that goes directly to Santa at the North Pole. Children can write a letter to Santa and will receive their very own personalised reply in the mail, but don’t forget to include your full name and address in your letter.
Meanwhile, Library elves have been busy decking the halls in readiness for the season. Visitors can take advantage of the stunning Christmas backdrop.  The festive scene has been specially created so that families can capture their own Christmas photos.
A special sensory Christmas photo session will be held on Monday 12 December 2022. Thanks to Camera House Griffith, longer session times are being offered in a quiet environment without any long queues and no Santa. You will receive a digital version of your photo for free.  Tickets are limited and must be booked via wrl.eventbrite.com.au
A special Rhyme Time with Santa Claus will be held on Tuesday 13 December at 10am where Children will get to meet Santa after singing and dancing to Christmas songs. Storytime with Santa Claus will be held on Wednesday 14 December at 10am.
Those looking for something creative to do can design and create a Christmas themed tote bag on Tuesday 20 December and Wednesday 21 December at 10.30am.
