Interest Charges To Be Reinstated
Monday, 22 Mar 2021Griffith City Council would like to advise ratepayers that interest charges on rates and water are being reinstated 1 April 2021.
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Council halted interest on unpaid rates and water accounts between July and December 2020 to ease the financial pressure being experienced by some ratepayers in the area.
As interest charges will resume as of 1 April 2021, it is important that anyone experiencing financial difficulty and with concerns about their ability to pay their rates on time, should contact Council as soon as possible to arrange a payment plan and avoid additional interest charges or recovery action.
Please contact Council on 1300 176 077 if you have any questions or to discuss payment options.
