Have Your Say On Our Community Priorities
Wednesday, 09 Feb 2022Council’s blueprint for community priorities for the next 10 years, the draft Community Strategic Plan (CSP), is on public exhibition and residents are urged to have their say.
Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said, the Community Strategic Plan is the highest level plan that Council will prepare on behalf of the community. Its purpose is to identify the community's main priorities and aspirations for the future and set the framework for all Council's activities and programs, working towards achieving the long term vision of the community.
“Throughout 2020 and 2021, Councillors and staff were out in the community collecting ideas, thoughts and opinions on how our city can be even better in the future," Councillor Curran said.
"We received some really valuable feedback from the community. Staff have reviewed all feedback to ensure the desires of our community are represented, with Councillors taking on board what the community has said.
"This is reflected in the draft Plan, which clearly identifies key themes and strategies and outlines where our community wants to be in the future,” added Councillor Curran.
Council’s Director, Economic and Organisational Development, Shireen Donaldson said this is an opportunity to have your say about the draft Community Strategic Plan.
"The draft Plan will be publicly exhibited from Wednesday 9 February through until March in anticipation of endorsement by Council in late March," said Ms Donaldson.
“This document is the result of extensive community consultation and we thank all those who took the time to contribute their ideas.
“From the feedback received we have been able to develop a plan that we feel is truly representative of what our community wants, however we welcome any further comments or submissions to ensure we get it right,” she added.
The draft document can be viewed at the Council Chambers, 1 Benerembah Street Griffith, Griffith City Library and on Council’s website at griffith.nsw.gov.au
Written submissions from the community can be sent to the General Manager, Griffith City Council, PO Box 485 Griffith NSW 2680.
You can also leave your feedback via a submission form on Council’s website at griffith.nsw.gov.au/onexhibition.
Comments or submissions will be received up to 4pm 9 March 2022.
The Community Strategic Plan will inform other key strategic documents for Council, including the Delivery Program, Operational Plan, Long Term Financial Plan, Asset Management Plan and Workforce Management Plan.
If you have any questions about the Community Strategic Plan, please contact Council on 1300 176 077.
