Griffith's Late Night Shopping Back For Glow2680
Thursday, 24 Nov 2022

Kooyoo Street will be activated for the first time since the redevelopment with the ‘Local Producers Christmas Markets’ popping up from 4pm – 8pm, providing shoppers with the opportunity to purchase items from local makers.
“We will have a wide range of stalls on show at this market, from jewellery and handmade items, locally grown flowers and produce, to drinks, oils and condiments. We will have something for everyone,” said Events Coordinator, Izabella Apolloni.
“We are encouraging all retailers and eateries located in the CBD to stay open until late and get into the Christmas spirit! This will be a wonderful opportunity for residents to get in some Christmas shopping while supporting local businesses.”
Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said this can be a particularly busy time of the year, but it is important to take time out to enjoy the festivities.
“Christmas time can be somewhat chaotic so we are hoping by hosting a late night shopping and Christmas Market, that it makes your Christmas shopping that little bit less stressful – and you can support our local retailers,” said Councillor Curran.
“Once the shopping is done, why not enjoy a family dinner at one of the local restaurants? You can then take the time to explore the lights throughout the CBD, and wander through the impressive display in Memorial Park which will be lit up from Friday 2 December.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to slow down and enjoy the Christmas spirit,” added Councillor Curran.
GLOW2680 kicks off on Friday 2 December with the Launch and Rotary Christmas Carnival from 5.30pm, with the lights being switched on from 7.30pm.
You can also support local businesses in the CBD by shopping locally throughout November and December – by shopping at a participating Star Business you can go in the draw to win a $500 voucher, or one of five $100 vouchers to spend at a Star Business. Entries close Tuesday 20 December.
Don’t forget to register your own Christmas Light Display or Merry Mailbox at glow2680.com.au
Griffith’s Christmas Late Night Shopping will be held from 4pm – 8pm Thursday 15 December. For more information, contact the Visit Griffith Team at the Griffith Tourism Hub 1800 681 141.
