Thursday, 16 Feb 2023

Griffith's Groove And Graze Set To Rock The Community This March Get set to get your ‘groove’ on with Griffith’s first Groove & Graze Music Festival on Saturday 18 March from 3pm! National and local bands are set to take the stage at the Burley Griffin Community Gardens Griffith’s newest one-day music & food festival, with tickets on sale now.

Made possible through the NSW Government’s Reconnecting Regional NSW - Community Events Program and Griffith City Council, Griffith Groove & Graze Music Festival promises to be a great day out for the entire family.

Event curator, Pristine Productions, has created a fantastic line up featuring Reece Mastin and Mahalia Barnes and The Soulmates, as well as local performances by Lolohea Brothers, Fates Babies, DJ Lady Barber and the Griffith Musicians Club ‘Supergroup’.

Much loved Australian actor, comedian and musician, Marty Fields will be Emcee for the evening. Versatile and charismatic, Marty will keep the entertained.

Mayor Doug Curran said he is looking forward to this event and is urging locals and visitors to bring the whole family along for an evening they won’t soon forget.

“The NSW Government is pleased to support the delivery of community events and festivals that are open for the entire community to attend, providing positive social and economic outcomes for regional communities – this created an opportunity for us to create a new music festival and Griffith Groove and Graze was born,” said Councillor Curran.

“It’s great to see this event supporting the music and entertainment industry, combining both national and local performers – this will be an incredible all age event and I encourage you to get your tickets fast.”

Headline act, Reece Mastin, captured the nation’s heart at the age of 16 as X-Factor winner in 2011. He has since reinvented his career from teenage pop idol to rock ‘n’ roll young gun with two Platinum Number 1 Albums and three consecutive chart topping singles.

Mahalia Barnes has been in and around music her entire life as the daughter of iconic Jimmy Barnes. Mahalia and The Soulmates have released three albums as well as several EPs, touring nationally and internationally.

There will also be plenty of kids activities to keep the whole family entertained, as well food trucks, coffee, ice-cream and donuts to keep everyone well fed. There will be a bar for the over-18s, ID will be required. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and picnic blankets.

“The new Stuart McWilliam Community Stage is the perfect venue for this kind of event and we cannot wait to showcase the facility - it should be a wonderful day with something for everyone to enjoy,” Councillor Curran added.

Tickets are only $10 for adults and under 18s are free but must still register their attendance.

We encourage everyone to get in early and purchase tickets online by visiting https://bit.ly/3Xyn7Tc
