Griffith Easter Party Set To Entertain
Wednesday, 24 Mar 2021With Easter just around the corner, the Visit Griffith team have released a jam packed program! From Thursday 1 April through until Easter Monday 5 April, the Griffith Easter Party will provide plenty of action and festivities to entertain your family and friends.
Chair of the Tourism Committee, Councillor Christine Stead said after the COVID-19 pandemic cancelling Easter celebrations last year, Griffith is the place to be to celebrate Easter this year.
“Griffith has a way of coming to life when Easter rolls around, and this year is going to be a fantastic celebration,” said Councillor Stead.
“Whether it’s dining it at one of our fantastic restaurants, participating in the Bacchus on the Lake, enjoying the Children’s Easter Brunch and Banna Avenue Sidewalk Sale, or relaxing at a local winery, there really is something for everyone to enjoy this Easter.”
Kick off Easter on Thursday 1 April by trying your luck in the seafood raffle at the Griffith Leagues Club. Or if getting out and exercising is more your style, register for the annual Good Friday Bacchus on the Lake Fun Run.
“The Bacchus on the Lake Family Fun Run is one of the oldest fun runs in Australia,” said Councillor Stead.
“Organised by the Feral Joggers, there are three courses on offer - an 8km walk, 5km sprint and 10km enduro for the fit, competitive runner. No matter which track you take, out by the lake first thing in the morning, it’s a great place to start your day.”
Saturday will be a hive of activity in Banna Avenue, with the Sidewalk Sale starting at 9am. Take in a spot of shopping before grabbing a coffee and heading over to Memorial Park and listen to some local entertainment.
Looking for something to keep the kids entertained? Drop by the CWA Park and enjoy the Children’s Easter Brunch in CWA Park from 9.30am.
“Our Main Street comes to life on Easter Saturday with sales and many activities for the family – including buskers, entertainers and more. Enjoy brunch, pick up a bargain or two and keep the entire family entertained for the morning,” Councillor Stead said.
The Vintage Festival is back this year, hosted by Riverina Winemakers, and showcases an array of local wines, food and music.
“We are excited to see this event return in 2021 although, it will be slightly different, it is a great way to wind down on Saturday afternoon. This popular event sells out quickly, so be sure to book your tickets at unwinedriverina.com.”
Easter in Griffith is synonymous with delicious food and beautiful wines and this year will not be any different. On top of great wine tasting experiences, many wineries are also hosting events throughout the weekend.
De Bortoli Wines is hosting a Noble One Masterclass, Garden Tours, Warehouse Sale and Celebrazione is also back for 2021.
Calabria Family Wines have their Food + Wine Festival and Yarran Wines are holding Live in the Vines at Sunset.
“We are lucky to live in an area with so many wineries – make sure you book in early to sample our local wines, and take in one or two of the events taking place,” said Councillor Stead.
“With so much going on this year, we expect to see an increase in visitors to town. Quest Griffith has jumped on board offering an ‘Easter at Quest Griffith’ promotion; stay three nights, pay for two! Book directly though Quest Griffith and quote ‘Griffith Easter Promotion’ if you, family or friends are planning on staying from Friday to Monday.”
“Drop by the Griffith Visitor Information Centre to pick up a printed program or head to griffitheasterparty.com.au for the latest in events and activities,” she added.
To avoid disappointment, please ensure you have book ahead as most events are strictly limited in numbers due to COVID-19 restrictions.
