From midday, make your way to the Griffith Italian Festival for an afternoon filled with Italian food, music, dancing, wine and lots of fun. Melbourne band, Siesta Cartel, will be back by popular demand to get you on your feet! Tickets sold out in 2019 for its first year – get in quick to avoid disappointment. Tickets can be purchased via www.griffithitalianfestival.com or in person the Griffith Visitor Information Centre.
Although the famous Griffith Salami Festival will not be held this year, the salami judging will still take place at the Yoogali Club and will be open to the public to view on Saturday afternoon.
True to its name you will be able to enjoy a ‘taste of Italy’ across Griffith throughout the entire weekend, with La Piccola Grosseria opening their doors on Sunday for those who want to make their way through some authentic Italian products.
You can’t go past some local vino, with most cellar doors offering Italian wine varietals for tasting, or for something truly special you can join the long Sunday lunch at Calabria Family Wines or De Bortoli Wines which will truly make you feel like you’re in Italy. Tickets available via their websites.
Griffith Tourism Manager, Mirella Guidolin said A Taste of Italy Griffith will feature many local Italian traditions, showcasing our authentic Italian culture and providing visitors and locals alike with a complete and memorable weekend in Griffith.
“A host of Italian themed events and experiences have been planned for the whole family to enjoy so pick up a program from the Griffith Visitor Information Centre,” said Ms Guidolin.
Chair of the Tourism and Events Committee, Councillor Christine Stead said, she was pleased to see local businesses come on board so enthusiastically to offer something Italian for everyone.
