Council’s Star Business And Shopper Campaign Is Back
Wednesday, 26 Oct 2022

Griffith City Council is bringing back the award-winning Glow2680 Christmas campaign after the overwhelming response last year which saw more than 15,000 entries submitted in the Star Shopper Campaign.
Businesses are invited to decorate and light-up their shop windows and register as a Star Business as soon as possible to encourage Star Shoppers to spend local in the lead up to the festive season.
Throughout November and the first week of December, by shopping at a Star Business customers will have the opportunity to win a $500 first prize or one of five runners-up $100 vouchers to spend at any one of the participating businesses.
Griffith City Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran, said the aim was to increase participation and engagement between Council, business and the community and to help invigorate the economy.
“I urge all retail businesses to register,” he said.
“This Campaign is part of our wider Glow2680 promotion. I think it’s a win for everyone. This allows Star Businesses to generate more sales and the Star Shoppers receive a nice little Christmas bonus to in turn spend more at their favourite Star Business.”
Council will promote through social media including Instagram, and businesses are encouraged to showcase their displays using the hashtag #Glow2680
How businesses can get involved:
- Register your business and receive a Glow2680 Star Business promotional sticker so that shoppers can easily identify that you are taking part
- Deck your shop window with lights and other festive decorations
- Send Council photos of your window display or simply use the #Glow2680 on social media platforms
- Hand out entry forms to shoppers who spend over $15 to place in the box provided (one entry per spend)
- Have your window lights switched on in time for the Glow2680 Light Up on Friday, 2 December 2022
- Register your business to take part in the Christmas Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, 3 December 2022
- Shop in-store throughout the promotional period (from Tuesday 1 November until Thursday, 8 December 2022) at any of the Star Businesses, easily identified by the Glow2680 Star Business Sticker
- Fill out the in-store entry form issued upon spending $15 (one entry per spend)
- Don’t forget to do your Christmas shopping during the Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, 3 December 2022
Winners will be drawn at Carols by Candlelight in Griffith Community Gardens on Saturday 10 December 2022.
