Her Way Project

Griffith City Council is pleased to be partnering with Transport for NSW on the Safer Cities: Her Way Program, which aims to make public spaces around transport hubs feel safer for everyone, especially women, girls and gender diverse people.

The program will deliver up to $1 million worth of public interventions with help of the community through a co-design process. 

UPDATES

16 April 2024 

  • Ulong Bridge - The Ulong Bridge is currently under construction with the bridge being redesigned to be level to the exisiting ground - with the installation scheduled to be completed by the end of May.
  • Kooyoo Bridge - Griffith City Council Works Department is currently laying the footpath subgrade with the footpaths and bollards to be completed after the subgrade construction.
  • Don Best Park - The shelter, concrete, electrical work, irrigation and plumbing have been installed with the landscaping of the park to commence in the next three weeks.
  • Bus Shelter - The Banna Avenue Bus Shelter has been redesigned to be 50% larger.
  • Murals - The murals are underway with various locations in Griffith being transformed with beautiful imagery in the coming months.
  • Car Park Lighting - The installation of car park lighting is scheduled to commence from 26 April 2024.
  • Signage - The artwork for the new Her Way signage is in the process of being created.
