Shaheedi Tournament (Griffith Sikh Games)

12 & 13 June long weekend, 2021 The Griffith Sikh Community celebrate the Shaheedi Tournament every June long weekend, attracting many thousands of people to Griffith from across Australia and overseas. 

Every June long weekend the Sikh community hold a two day event at Ted Scobie Oval against the backdrop of Scenic Hill in Griffith. Enjoy traditional Indian cuisine throughout the day as well as soccer, tug-o-war, kabbadi: a wrestling sport originating from very early Indian civilisation, and athletic events for the kids. 

Shaheedi Tournament (Sikh Games) in Griffith is held in the memory and honour of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their elite faith and Sikh values.

Accommodation in Griffith and surrounding towns fill up very quickly so plan your trip early for this very popular event to avoid disappointment.
