Murrami NSW 2705
Where history meets agriculture.
About halfway between Leeton and Griffith lies the small village of Murrami. It may be tiny, but Murrami offers fascinating historical and agricultural insights into the region.
Randall's Organic Rice - "the freshest organic rice in Australia, delivered to your door". Peter Randall, has pioneered organic rice farming in the region. After 20 years of commitment and hard work, the Randall's have established an on-farm business where they not only grow the rice, but mill it and pack it for consumers and the restaurant trade. They were awarded the State Winner of the Delicious Produce Awards in 2016 and the Trophy winner in 2017.
They produce long grain rice - Langi and Doongara (brown and white). Short grain rice - Jasmine and Koshihikari (brown and white). Brown rice cakes and brown and white rice flour. More details here: www.randallorganic.com/
Nearby, Libby Bailey began restoring antique rocking horses as a hobby, but her interest soon developed into much more as her talents were recognised internationally. A love of horses, Libby was a member of the NSW State Advance Dressage Squad. She had shown thoroughbred horses for many years throughout the Riverina always ensuring they would step out into the arenas with excellent presentation when competing. She now restores old rocking horses with the same level of attention to detail and finish as those she competed with in the show rings and dressage arenas.
