There is no limit to the number of items you can borrow, however, CD’s & DVD’s are limited to three of each at any one time.
Items for loan
We have a fantastic range of items suitable for all ages to borrow, including:
- Books in standard and large print
- Audio books on CD
- Playaways – audio books preloaded onto MP3 players
- Books & DVD’s in languages other than English
For most items the normal borrowing period is for three weeks (21 days).
The only exception is CD’s and DVD’s which are a one week loan (7 days).
If you require an extended loan on any items please ask staff for assistance.
If you would like to renew your items, you can do so online, over the phone or in person at the library.
Browse or search
To find something to read, watch or listen to you can browse the library, or search the catalogue
Through the catalogue you can view a complete list of the new items in our collection, or you can narrow the list down to the specific collection you are interested in (eg: adult fiction, large print, or DVD) by searching the new items list.
If you would like an item that is currently on loan to someone else it is possible to reserve the item online through the catalogue or by asking a member of staff at the library. When the item has been returned and is available for collection we will notify you by email/post.
It is also possible to request an item be sent over from one of our branch libraries (Narrandera, Carrathool, Hay, Jerilderie and the Murrumbidgee Mobile Library) so that you can borrow it from Griffith library.
If you have borrowed an item and would like to keep it for longer you can renew it as long as it has not been requested by another member.
You can renew your items online over the phone or in person at the library.
Items loaned from Griffith library can be returned at any time of the day. If you can’t make it during opening hours there is a returns chute next to the front door so you can still return your items when the library is closed.
You can also return Griffith items to any of our branch libraries in Narrandera, Carrathool, Hay, Jerilderie and the Murrumbidgee Mobile Library.
We don’t have the item you’re after?
You can search other Australian libraries at http://www.trove.nla.gov.au/ If the item is available at another library we can request to borrow it for you on Interlibrary loan.
