Life drawing sessions taught by Anthea da Silva, winner of the Inaugural Darling Portrait Prize 2020.
The Art Gallery presents weekly Life Drawing sessions for over 18s - from beginners to experienced artists. Learn techniques and develop a deeper awareness of the ways we see in real-time, celebrating the dynamism & immediacy of seeing & drawing a real live human model striking short poses from 1 - 20 minutes.
A typical 2 hour session includes a break to share some of McWilliam’s finest with refreshments, and a chance to chat about art and what’s happening locally, nationally or internationally. Some say it’s like yoga for artists, with vino.
Anthea da Silva, winner of the Inaugural Darling Portrait Prize 2020, has a passion for portraits and figurative art. She facilitates energising life drawing sessions informed by her studies in anatomy and whole brain learning techniques, and has taught drawing & painting at tertiary level over many years.
