Rhonda Miranda
In these sessions you will be guided by local artist Rhonda Miranda, who has been a practicing artist for over 40 years. Holding solo exhibitions and winning numerous awards, her knowledge of still life and oil painting will be an invaluable experience you won't want to miss. Over these two-day sessions (held over two Saturdays), she will take you through the fundamentals of still life painting in her preferred medium of oil painting. 

Available to those 18 years and over

 

Materials 

Paint and Gel Medium will be supplied, but we would like artists to bring the following:

  • An assortment of painting brushed suitable for oil painting (see the list below)
  • A square linen or cotton canvas between the size of 40cm x 40cm - 50cm x 50cm (see material purchase recommendations below)
  • 3-5 Disposable cloth rags
  • A device e.g. phone or ipad for viewing imagery (optional)

 

Paint Brush recommendations (it is suggested to have at least one of each size or sizes close, but two will see you work more comfortably through the process):

An assortment of flat brushes
2 of number 11
2 x number 7
3 x number 5
3 x number 3
1 x number 1
plus some fine round number 1
 

Material purchase recommendations:
Canvas' and brushes can be brought locally from suppliers locally or online. We believe stock can be found at local suppliers such as 'In the Frame', 'Bargain Buys' or 'Kmart'.
