ART GALLERY AND MCWILLIAMS FAMILY WINES BLACK TIE SOIREE A RUNWAY SUCCESS

Over 100 people turned out in their finest on Friday 10 August, for Griffith Regional Art Gallery’s gala event - the announcement of the winners of the 2018 National Contemporary Jewellery Awards and the 30th Anniversary of the Gallery’s signature National Contemporary Jewellery Collection (NCJC).

The event has been described as the ‘ruby in the tiara’ of the highly successful partnership between the Art Gallery and McWilliams’ Family Wines.

The event was the highlight of the two-year sponsorship, as McWilliams feted guests with its world class wines and delicious catering from In Bocca.

On the glittering night guests enjoyed a ‘New York’ vibe with music by DJ Lady Barber, and were treated to a red carpet fashion show with local fashion houses Stomp, and Lola & Iris, selecting pieces from the NCJC and to match with fashions from their own boutiques.

It was the first time many people had seen the exquisite handcrafted pieces from the collection, and they were perfectly showcased by 10 beautiful young women also modelling Stomp, and Lola & Iris fashions, with their hair and makeup done by Masters of Hair and Boheme Beauty.

Griffith Regional Art Gallery Manager, Raina Savage said, “The night exceeded all our expectations, and we send a huge thank you to our partner McWilliams Wines and to all the local businesses who donated their time and skill to create such an amazing event.”

“The Gallery looked fantastic, with the finalists of the 2018 National Contemporary Jewellery Award on display, complemented beautifully by pieces from the National Emerging Glass Awards from Wagga Wagga Art Gallery,” Ms Savage said.

The Exhibition closes on Sunday 23 September, with a very special performance event in the Gallery - The Song Company - Four-Colour-Season – featuring Australia’s most acclaimed a cappella singing group with Indigenous dancers. The event starts at 5pm and tickets are strictly limited.

Tickets $25 or $20 Members, available from the Griffith Regional Theatre Box Office 6962 844 or online griffithregionaltheatre.com.au
