NEW VISIT GRIFFITH WEBSITE LAUNCHED

A modern, new website to better promote Griffith and the region will be unveiled this week.

From today, the best of what Griffith has to offer will be just a click away at www.visitgriffith.com.au

In addition to a new look and feel, the updated site provides information about what festivals are held, where to stay, what to see and do, shopping and includes day trip options around the region.

Chair of the Tourism and Events Committee, Councillor Christine Stead, said the main goal was to improve the online experience for locals and visitors.

“Griffith is one of Australia’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan centres with a rich blend of cultures and traditions and now the Visit Griffith website reflects that,” Cr Stead said.

“Our new website showcases our local food and world-class wines, friendly people and colourful customs.

“The foodie scene in Griffith is gaining momentum and our website allows you to explore that. We even have a section we call ‘Little Italy’ that pays homage to our Italian heritage and all of the great things associated with it.

“The website features a comprehensive calendar of all events around the region, with the ability for everyone to add their own community event making it a one stop shop for events. It’s a fantastic resource as it includes the ability to print all of the calendar details.”

Designed in-house, the new website is compatible with all devices, including mobile phones, allowing visitors to plan their stay in Griffith on the go.

The Visit Griffith website will be officially unveiled at the Tourism Networking Night at Baratto Wines tonight, Thursday 30 August, 2018.

Councillor Stead said all of the information a prospective visitor could need is just a click away.

“People are doing more research online when it comes to travel and in particular using their mobile devices,” Cr Stead said.

“It’s important to have up-to-date online touch points to reach these potential visitors, letting them know what exciting tourist attractions the city has to offer and when our festivals are held.

“Visitors will now be able to make Griffith their base while they explore all of the surrounding attractions across our region.

“We are extremely excited to launch this week. It’s fresh and modern and best of all easy to use. It showcases our city beautifully.”
