PARKING AVAILABLE ALONG BANNA LANE FOR YAMBIL STREET CUSTOMERS

As works progress on the Yambil Street upgrade, Griffith City Council is encouraging drivers to look for parking along Banna Lane when visiting businesses on the northern side of the street.

Griffith Mayor John Dal Broi said he appreciates the upgrade has made parking difficult, but stressed Council is making every effort to accommodate parking in Banna Lane.

“Quite a few Yambil Street businesses can be accessed from Banna Lane, so customers and clients should check if parking is available,” Cr Dal Broi said.

“We ask that people always respect the road rules as it is imperative that people refrain from parking across driveways.

“Council has received feedback of drivers disregarding basic road rules and parking across driveways. This is of great concern as this behaviour is not only extremely inconvenient, but is also illegal,” he said.

Drivers who are parked across driveways will be issued with a fine.

If you are affected by a car parked across your driveway, contact Griffith City Council’s Compliance Department on 6962 1800. The officers will take action as soon as possible.
