Following on from a successful first year, Rewind in the Vines has today announced the acts that will be coming to Griffith for the festival’s return. The event will again showcase an array of classic Australian artists, with the bill being headlined by iconic rockers The Angels. Filling out the evening will be the enchanting live performances of Diesel, The Black Sorrows, Choirboys and Radiators.

The festival will be set on the lawns of the Miranda Winery in Griffith on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019. Not only will the event see all the aforementioned acts take to the stage, it aims to celebrate the local wines that have made the Riverina famous on a global scale. Rewind in the Vines will open its gates to all ages for the first time in 2019. A new addition for the event’s sophomore year will be the Little Rewind area, a fun-filled land of kid’s entertainment to keep the little ones busy all afternoon. Quality local food vendors will be satisfying the crowd’s hunger all day and night, with organisers promising to broaden the range of choices even further this year.

It’s hard to believe, but it has been four decades since the release of The Angels’ multi-platinum selling second album, “Face to Face”. The seminal release firmly put the band on the map, both in Australia and internationally, spawning tracks that still hold a place in music history, such as ‘Take A Long Line’, ‘Marseilles’, ‘After The Rain’ and ‘Be With You’ to name a few. The pub rock legends penned one of the most popular songs of a generation in ‘Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again’, which still commonly soundtracks airwaves around the country to this day. The band are set to rock Griffith at their exclusive Rewind in the Vines performance.

The artist line-up has expanded dramatically when comparing year-on-year, more than doubling the attendance of 70s and 80s groups in 2019. Expect an evening filled with memorable tunes from Diesel (‘Tip Of My Tongue’, ‘Cry In Shame’), The Black Sorrows (‘Chained To The Wheel’, ‘Harley & Rose’), Choirboys (‘Run To Paradise’, ‘Boys Will Be Boys’) and Radiators. Upcoming band Pacific Avenue from the coast of NSW will perform in the afternoon, with the festival being opened up by talented Griffith locals Happy Avenue and Side Effect.

Rewind in the Vines have partnered with Bella Vita Tours, who have curated the perfect experience for anyone looking to get more out of their weekend in Griffith. Packages include exclusive tours of two local wineries, festival tickets and transport, with accommodation, breakfast and group deals available.

Griffith City Council is proudly supporting the festival again in 2019. Councillor Stead, the Chair of the Tourism Committee, said that “the festival will be an asset to our community not just for the entertainment on offer, but the increased visitation and boost to our local economy that comes with it is a huge plus”. The councillor highlighted the festival’s new elements as a positive addition, saying “it is great this year that the event is catering for all ages and incorporating tours of our region”. Councillor Stead finished, “with such a generous array of entertainment this year, we trust that our local community and region will support this, as it is something our locals have been wanting for many years and we are so pleased to be able to deliver this”.
