Position Description

About this position

As a member of the Executive team the Director Economic and Organisational Development will provide high level advice to Council and the General Manager. Working across the respective Directorates, with the General Manager and other Directors, leading overall organisational direction and leadership.

Guidance will be provided to the organisation in achieving long and short-term objectives, ensuring business and legislative requirements are met.

It will require accomplished senior executives with passion to drive excellent performance and build organisational capacity to deliver effective outcomes for our customers and highly developed political acumen and communication skills that will inspire confidence in Council, staff and community.

To be considered for this role candidates will need a proven ability to manage complex budgets, lead and motivate an innovative workforce, develop and deliver long term strategic plans and work closely in partnership with the General Manager, Mayor, Councillors and community to achieve the organisation’s goals and priorities.  Relevant tertiary qualifications and a sound understanding of current Local Government reform and strong knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993 and other relevant legislation would also be ideal.

About this position

The Swimming Instructor is responsible for preparing and conducting quality swimming and water safety lessons in a safe and friendly manner in accordance with the GRALC Learn to Swim program.

Qualifications: Working with Children Check Clearance Number. Please include copies of all relevant licences and qualifications with your application.

Salary and conditions: Commencement ordinary hourly rate $24.68 plus 25% casual loading Monday to Friday and penalty rates for any weekend work (Grade 5).

Special conditions: This position is designated as a child-related position. It is an offence under NSW Legislation for a person convicted of a serious sex offence to apply for this position.

About this position

The role of the Ozonation and Relief Plant Operator is to construct, operate and maintain Council’s water, sewerage and stormwater reticulation systems to relevant standards in a safe, economical and proficient manner, using the plant, equipment and materials supplied.

Qualifications:  The successful applicant will require to hold a current drivers licence Class HR and a Certificate of Competence as specified by the Work Cover Authority for Front End Loader and Back–Hoe. Please include copies of all relevant licenses and qualifications with your application.

Hours of work: 38 hours per week. 

Salary and conditions: Annual salary range $52,361.40 to $57,595.20 (Grade 7). Rostered day off once a fortnight.

ESSENTIAL

  • Hold a current driver licence Class HR.

  • Hold Certificate of Competence as specified by the Work Cover Authority for Front End Loader and Backhoe.

  • Hold a General Construction Induction Training certificate (GIT or white card).

  • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain light plant, equipment and power tools

  • Demonstrated ability to perform general labouring tasks involved in the construction, operation and maintenance of Councils water supply assets & wastewater assets.

  • Demonstrated accurate record keeping skills.  

DESIRABLE

  • Hold a current Forklift licence

  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe manual/mechanical handling procedures and skills.

  • Have ability to interpret plans of water and sewer reticulation systems.

Position Description

The Team Leader - Sportsgrounds purpose is to organise and supervise the activities of several work crews and contractors involved in the maintenance and construction of Sportsgrounds, parks and garden facilities and related services.

Qualifications: The successful applicant will require a trade certificate or Certificate III in Horticulture and demonstrated experience in arboriculture operations. Please include copies of all relevant licenses and qualifications with your application.

Hours of work: 38 hours per week 

Salary and conditions: Annual salary range $56,419.48 to $62,062.00 (Grade 9) Rostered day off once a fortnight.

  • Demonstrated ability to read plans and perform setting out of works
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive work relationships with staff and the public.
  • Working knowledge of computers including MS Office and email systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity legislation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Work health and Safety legislation and regulations specific to the area of work.

DESIRABLE

  • Have a solid understanding of Playground Safety Issues.
  • Hold a current MR Driver licence
