About this position

 

The purpose of the Water and Wastewater Maintenance Operator/Relief Pumpwell Operator is to construct, operate and maintain Councils water and sewerage reticulation system and pump stations to relevant standards in a safe, economical and proficient manner, using the plant, equipment and materials supplied.

Qualifications:  Please include copies of all relevant licenses and qualifications with your application.

Hours of work: 38 hours per week. 

Salary and conditions: Commencement annual salary $52,361.40 to $57,595.20 (Grade 7). Rostered day off once a fortnight.

Council is seeking applications from enthusiastic motivated individuals for the following position(s)

Position details:

Essential

  • Hold a current MR driver license.
  • Hold a General Construction Induction Training certificate (GIT or White Card).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform general labouring tasks.
  • Demonstrated competent computer knowledge and skills including email and word processing
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain plant, equipment and power tools.
  • Demonstrated accurate record keeping skills with good numeracy and literacy skills

Desirable

  • Demonstrated training in safe manual / mechanical handling procedures and skills
  • Knowledge of water and sewer reticulation and basic construction techniques.

About this position

 

The purpose of the Manager Tourism is to be proactive and innovative in the strategic development of tourism for the City of Griffith. This will include developing and managing strategies, including marketing and events to achieve increased visitor numbers and promote a positive image of Griffith.

Qualifications: Degree in tourism management, business or marketing or relevant industry experience. Excellent understanding and experience in tourism, communication, organisational and leadership skills are also essential.

Hours of work: 35 hours per week. 

Salary and conditions: Commencement annual salary $94,411.20 to $103,854.40 (Grade 20).

  5. Understanding of government structures and the availability of resources for the pursuit of tourism development.
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop policies, strategies and procedures.
  7. Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate meetings and public forums.
  8. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  9. Demonstrated experience with problem solving, trouble shooting and decision making
  10. Knowledge and understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity legislation.
  11. Knowledge and understanding of Work Health Safety legislation and regulations specific to the area of work
  12. Demonstrated high level of computer literacy
  13. Hold a current driver license Class “C” or equivalent

Desirable

  1. Demonstrated or proven judgment skills including the ability to analyse information, including statistical analysis
  2. Demonstrated ability to cultivate productive working relationships and excellent communication across a range of media including the ability to provide outstanding customer service
